  3. YES! Thank you for this. The band I'm a part of, our guitarist has this pedal. Loves it.

  4. Call it verified! Great pedal and sounds almost identical to the YT vid. Used J202 for Q3 after testing a few and it sounded best. 2N3904s for Q1-2, NE5532 for IC and 1N270s for germs. Thanks Alex!

  5. Hi Alex, I'm new to the board, looks like some brilliant work going on here! I think I have to have a go at the Gristle King. It looks fairly challenging but well worth it if I can make a decent job of it. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is that a 50k trim pot at the top right & if so what is it doing? I didn't see it in the originally traced schematic over on FSB.
    Thanks!
    Tim.

    1. Welcome to the community :)
That replaces the fixed drain resistor (R20 on the FSB schematic) to be able to adjust the JFET's BIAS.

  6. I see, in place of the 9k09 fixed resistor... understood, I should probably have been able to figure that out, but thanks so much for helping (and for the welcome!).
Now to start putting it together...
    Tim

  7. What type of germanium diodes are used? Pics i've seen of this pedal show glass diodes with a green stripe. Does anyone know which kind was used? I don't mind buying NOS.
